97 F150 tranny problem

Ok I have a 97 F150 with 211000 miles on it and lately the transmission has been stalling a little on take off and shutters and stalls before slamming into second. It shifts fine from there on out. In fact if I manually put it in second and then shift into auto it seems fine. I have recently changed the tranny fluid and filter, and yes I drained the torque converter. I have also had the plugs changed within the last few months. Do you think it is just worn out or can this be fixed fairly easily? Thanks.

The high-mileage 97 F150 that I recently owned for a short time was exhibiting similar symptoms.

I ran a can of Seafoam Transmission treatment through it for a week, then did a pan drop, filter change, and fresh Mercon.

That was three months ago and the transmission is still running.

YMMV.
