Unhappy Suitable substitute for AOD Fluid

I understand Ford has removed all mercon III form the shelves and is using V for all sevicing. Is this a substitute fluid for the AOD? Any direction would be of help, I understand the "V" fluid helps with crisper shifting and has better detergents.
THANKS...

IT SEEMS MERCON "V" IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE AOD, ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL PARTS HOUSES.

CAN ANYONE DISPUTE THIS, JUST WANT TO BE SURE EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THE AOD CAN USE "III".

as you've probly been told by the parts houses the V is synthetic the III is not. Fords newer tranny's use the V. running the III in them will damage them. so to be safe they stoped carying the III.
the V's better any way.
