In the past 2 weeks, the temperature has dropped here to 30s and 40s. At this point I noticed a transmission problem.
When the truck is in Drive or shifts into Overdrive and the RPMs are around 1300 - 1500, I can press the throttle a little without the transmission downshifting. Sometimes, but not all the time, the truck starts to 'buck' / hesitate a little. It almost feels like the engine is mis-firing. As soon as it downshifts or the RPMs increase, it's fine. It doesn't happen all the time, but happens more when the engine / transmission is cold.
The truck has 43K miles and I don't believe it has ever been serviced.
I've been researching a bit and was wondering if this is the locking mechanism that works with the torque converter?
I put in a K&N air cleaner just before this started hapening and was wondering if this could in any way be related?
