Does anyone out here made a deeper pan for a '01 SCrew? I seen some on Jegs for about $165 but I'm not looking to pay that much for a few more qts. I've been doing some towing this summer in Texas and I sure the larger pan will help keep the trany abit cooler.
Mag-Hytec makes good ones. I looked at them awhile ago, but really haven't had money I wanted to put towards one at the time. If I can remember correctly, they have cooling fins, and hold like 4 more quarts, and had a few other cool features.
I replaced mine with a Ford OEM pan for a 4x4 primarily for the drain plug but it hold a tad bit more.
Not sure if more fluid would get you much more protction. I'm here in North Texas where we've been HOT for the last several weeks. I tow 7500# in this heat and I can still touch the pan. If you want to coo it more, add another or better cooler, or a fan to the cooler. I run Amsoil so maybe it really does disipate heat a little better. Shift kit etc. helps as well, as it shortens the shift duration which is a real heat reducer!

I believe TCI also makes one that adds two quarts. I like it cause it offers better clearance than the mag. More important than more capacity is a tranny cooler. If you don't have a cooler get a stacked plate style. Let us know what pan you get.
