5Spd better shifting after lube change

I've read many posts about the 5 Speed shifting problems. My 5 speed has been quite good; never grinds but occasionally "notchy" going from 2nd to 3rd. I just had the transmission lube changed at the Ford dealership with the plain old Ford product. I noticed that it does seem to shift more smoothly since the change. It must be real because I wasn't even thinking about it; or an improvement. But all of a sudden I noticed that it was smoother shifting. Maybe just changing the oil is as important as what kind of oil is put in there.

I would agree it does indeed help. At 25,000 miles I put Royal Purple ATF synthetic oil in my transmission and I noticed it was a bit better. I never had a problem with it to begin with, but noticed it seemed a bit better.

Mine was better as well

My stick was better and smoother shifting. A good synthetic does seem to help. I switched mine over to Amsoil fluid because I have always had good performance from their synthetic oil. Does seem smoother.
