Has anyone tried to put a Ratchet shifter in their truck?

I see B&M makes a Pro-Ratchet shifter for the Mustangs with the 4R70W transmission. Has anyone tried installing one in their truck?

Cool

HI!... WLF : I have been working on this project on/off now for about a year. I have a ew HURST "V MATIC 2" that I've modified to fit in my truck. Since I now have a EXPEDITION center console in the truck, I'm going to mount it in the front "POCKET" or large bin up front. A regular HURST cable will work but you will have to hand fabricate up a linkage to adapt to the 4R70-W. HURST does'nt currently make one. I will also be fabricating up a tubular aluminum stand that bolts to the floor and gives me the height to mount the shifter into the center console it'self. I then plan on deleting the column shifter and goi to a manual steering column. I've already moved my O/D button to the dash (long story!). I'm running a polished aluminum "T" handle from HURST with the momentary button inside to run my line-lock.

Leave it to you Neal to pioneer something.
-Do you think a bracket from a Mustang would help?

What I am looking at is B&M now makes a kit for the 4R70W for the Mustang console. It is suppose to be cable operated and be a direct bold in. I am not sure if maybe I have to get some of the linkage from a Mustang to make it work but it seems to me if it will work with one 4R70W then it should work with another.

Wouldn't it be sweet to use a ratchet style floor shifter instead of the column shift?
It will only cost about $250 to find out (considering I may need some stuff off a junk yard Mustang). I don't have a console so I probably will also have to fabricate and mount some kind of box to hold the shifter as well. I think I am going to go for it.
Will let you know how it turns out. Keep me informed about your progress as well.

I spoke with a teck at B&M and he says there is more involved in the ELECTRONICS on the 4R70W and the shifter for the AODE would not fit??
I am going to have to get to the bottom of this. I know when I mechanically shift the column shifter, the trans shifts. I am just looking for something to replace the mechanics of the shifter...
Can't be that hard...
