Question Mercon V Factory fluid color?

I bought a used 01 Screw with only 24k. I noticed the tranny fluid (Mercon V) color is darker red than my wife's 2000 Expy (Mercon). Is this the "normal" color of the factory Mercon V or should I plan on draining the pan this weekend?

I'd change all the fluid, not just what's in the pan. MERCON and MERCON V start off with the same color.

Here's a link to a method of changing all the fluid.
