How do I know what tranny I have?
Hey guys, this is probably an easy answer, but I just don't know. I am certain I can get a clear answer from the wealth of info on this board.

I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew 4 wheel drive lariat with the 5.4L engine. What transmission do I have? If it is possible I could have either one, how do I tell the difference?

dont know bout yours, I have a 5 spd manual, mine is stamped on the rear transmission support (m50)

Look for a blue tag on the driver's door post. Under the letters "TR" will be either a "U" or an "E."

If there is a "U" it's a 4R70W. If it is an "E" it is a 4R100.
