Hi all. I have a 2000 F-150, automatic 4R70W with the 4.6. It has about 65,000 miles. I take care of it well, servicing the transmission every 30,000 miles. Transmission oil shows no signs of excessive metal shavings. I have been experiencing a bit of a jolt when starting (in gear) from a standstill, like at a red light for example. Sometimes (especially when the truck is hot) I will come to a stop and the truck doesnt seem to be in gear for a second at all upon releasing the brake and applying gas. Over time, this problem has become worse. I now experience times when the truck refuses to engage in gear after start up. Usually, I can play with it for a minute (or just wait for a while) and it will shift into gear. However, when accelerating, shifts between gears are smooth, no apparent problem there. Hope someone has some ideas. Could a shift kit help or a trans cooler help? Thanks - Trevor
