Can someone please explain.....>

Can someone please explain what a shift kit is for a auto tranny? What is its function, how much does it cost, how do you install it, and what are the good/bad things about it. Thanks for any replies.

I think it puts more line pressure in using different springs. This will decrease the time it takes so shift through the gears. In doing this, not as much slippage occurs and thus less heat is produced. The drawback is the gears are hit a bit harder. So overall, I think they equal out and you get tranny that shifts much faster and makes the truck faster.

Not sure if this is correct or not, we will see. LOL

explains it pretty well, it's old, I made some changes a while back, I think the updated version is availble at the Chicken Walker Motorsports site, he's listed under supporting vendors.
