Question Leaky Tranny

I have 97, ext. cab., 4x4, 4.6, v-8, with the 4r70 tranny. The truck has 120,000 miles on it and runs like a charm. The tranny has recently began losing fluid somewhere down under. I replace approximately 1 pint every 500 miles. Most of the truck's drive time is spent at highway speeds.

The tranny has been flushed at regular intervals and has gone through the full service at 90,000 miles. The converter was drained and the filter was replaced at that time. The color of the fluid is still nice and clear red, not dark.

I am wondering if the leak could be from the pan or is it somewhere much more serious? If I do have need of a seal replacement by an expert what can I expect the cost to be? I can replace the pan gasket myself, so that is not a concern.

It only seems to leak when the truck is parked and off. When the truck is on, there is no noticable leak or drip. I don't know about while running at highway speeds.
