What trans do I have?
I have an 98 F150 4x4 reg cab auto trans with the 4.6 motor. Whats the difference between the E40D and the 4R70W?

You have the 4R70W/AOD-E, totally different tranny from the E4OD/4R100. I had seen where you got the Transgo for an E4OD and was kind of scracthing my head.

Yeah, I got the wrong one! Sent it back to Summit to exchange it for the right one! Realized that when I counted the tranny pan bolts(14) compared to the (20) pan bolt for the EAOD.
