2006 F150 FX4 tires?

My family and I are planning on purchasing a travel trailer this year, and based off that I'm shopping for tires.

My tires size is 275/55R20. Having the larger 20" wheels makes finding Load rated tires hard. My gas mileage with Pirellis now has been horrible... And maybe not so much Pirelli's fault as it is the larger wheels and type of tire. I'm getting 11 city/ 13 highway. I wanted to go with an all season tire, lowest profile, lowest rolling resistance for best fuel efficiency BUT, what I have found is THAT is the exact opposite of a LT tire designed for load (load rated D or E). With that being said, I wanted to see what people opinions/recommendations are for tires for my truck. I plan on towing 3-6 times a year and all over the country. I want it safe for towing a 5000-6000 lb trailer. I don't do much of any off roading... My 4x4 can compensate for an all season tire. So far the only tire I have found is a BFG LT275/55R20 AT KO2 D rated tire. I can't find any E rated tires. I don't know if I need an E rated tire..... I've heard some say they ride rough. And I can't find any All Season (non AT) tire for better gas mileage. Thanks in advance fr your help!

All you need is a XL-rated P-tire or a LT LR C. You will get even worse mileage with a KO2.

Well, had to read your note a couple times. I would say that you really shouldn't expect much better from your truck in terms of mileage. had an 02 F150 with the 5.4 and around town 12 was about what I could expect. Highways typically saw best mileage of 19 mpg but 17-18 was the norm. About the largest thing I pulled was 19 foot boat.
Ok, so you occasionally expect to pull 5000-6000lb trailer. P rated tires would be fine in most cases. At the most you might consider LT's with -C- rated. I dont think in any event your going to see any magic in MPG one way or the other.
In terms of good tires all season you can look at the tire rack for say comparisons. as soon as my stock tires ran down I opted for Yokohama Geolander A/Ts. great tire all around and reasonably priced.
As I said I had an 02 F150, but sold and upgraded in 2011 to F150 4x4 crewcab with 5.0L, 3.55 limited slip. Two totally different trucks. New rig unloaded typically sees 19-22 mpg on highway. the 5.0L runs circles around the older 5.4L. Now I tow a 30 foot travel trailer 5900 lb dry/ 7300lb wet. The truck pulls it great and I see 11.5-12.0 mpg at highway speeds.
Hope this helps.
