Can I haul 16' boards ?

Is the F150, 8' bed, long enough to carry 16' composite boards? We have racks over the cab as well... Trying to figure out how to get them home

Rack would be better. Even with the tailgate down, you would have 6' of board unsupported.

Depending on how heavy the stuff is and how much you are putting in the bed, you could do it with the 6' still hanging off. But if its too heavy, your tailgate will bend in half like one guys 250 just did on this forum. The best way would be to get a flat trailer. If you don't have a trailer that will work then ask friends and even try uhaul.

Don't try and haul composite boards/decking that long in a 8ft box it will not end well it's slippery, heavy, and it's like a spaghetti noodle. It can be a challenge for us to handle/haul and we have the trucks and equipment to do it. Get it delivered or put it on a trailer or ladder rack if you have one on the truck.

Anything over 2' hanging over is illegal unless you get permits and placards.
Depending on how much overhang some states even require chase vehicles.

How many? Do you have a sliding rear window? I haul 16' lumber through that.

I didn't know that. I haul 12' 2x4s in my 5.5' bed several times a year and have never got stopped for it, but it is always in the daytime and orange tape around it.
