Tie Down Advise - car on trailer

This may seem simple for some, but I need to figure this out -

In about 2 weeks I am making a pretty long trip to pick up a car with my F-150 and trailer.

Trailer - 7'x18' landscape trailer with 18" high rails.

I am picking up an older VW Jetta (front wheel drive). I know on my wife's VW Beetle, there are very few good places to tie it down.

I've hauled heavy equipment for years, and usually don't have a problem finding a good tie down using chains & binders.

The Jetta is a bit more delicate, and don't feel chains/binders would be appropriate.
I have some 2" ratchet straps (5k#) which I think would work fine, but still have the unknown tie-down points under the car.

Now, for my zero-turn mower, I use Fastraps - one of the best things I ever bought -

Fastrap

But, the only problem with them is a permanent mounting, which I don't want to do.

Is there something out there that is similar to the Fastrap that doesn't require a permanent mounting?

Or any other suggestions?

I've seen those, but is it safe to wrap a strap around the axle of a front wheel drive car without damaging the axle?

Most truck/trailer supply places have tow truck rings with J-hooks, I-hooks, T-hooks on a ring that you can attach to the car and then attach to your tie down ratching straps.

This is the most secure and you won't hurt the vehicle.

This is the same way they are transported to and from the manufacturer or dealer to dealer.

If you look under the corners of the vehicle you will see where they attach to the sub-frame.

The best thing to do is to tie to sub frame some how instead of axles. When you ratchet down, you'll squeeze down on the suspension giving you a much better ride with no "floating".

I would pick up on the sub frame near the engine if possible, and go diagonal from RF corner of car, to just behind the LF wheel

depending on the wheel design you can thread thread the strap through the wheels. you can also use axle straps the same way. which i sometimes do cause i got tired crawling under to get the strap on the axle.
