Why waste all that money? Your F150 will handle that just fine with no modifications whatsoever.

if he's got a 4.6 he's gonna have troubles on hills

E-fans custom tunes, underdrive puleys and an electric water pump will all help put power to the ground, the tranny needs a shift kit and I'd put in an additional trans cooler plus rear sway bar and better brakes (plus controller for the trailer brakes)

just my $0.02

You can't get the 4.6 in an FX4.

Are you serious about the rest of those mods? I wouldn't swap out the mechanical fan for E-fans simply because of reliability. Custom tunes, maybe. Underdrive pulleys, why? Electric water pump, seriously?

Sure seems like a waste of a TON of money that you'll probably never even notice while towing, unless one of those mods fails, then you'll be stranded.

you're 100% right, unmodified vehciles make just as much power as the same identical vehicle with modifications

Most mods increase power above 4000rpm and do little below it. Most people never drive over 4000rpm, even when towing.

If you want the mods, great! They will change how your truck performs when lightly loaded. Towing, don't expect much difference. See, hwm3, I can agree with you sometimes.

I pull a 4500# 14' enclosed trailer for work and my truck is stock for now and it pulls fine. Just in a strong headwind it stays out of overdrive for a while or if I'm pulling up any serious grade.

Thats why I plan on getting a gryphon for my towing, that should help out with the towing.

The mods I made were for general performance gains... and they work great.

Also picked up 1 mpg towing the tt which is not much but an added bonus.

You can see the mods I did, below.

if you want more power for towing, the best mod is regearing to a lower ratio. what is your current tire size?

Would love more power for towing... but don't want to go "backwards" with fuel economy doing the daily drive.

Tire size 285 60 18... a tiny bit more than the stock tires in diameter but much wider.

Not always will shorter gears = worse fuel economy. Pacific, you've already got less than 32" tires. I'm sure the tire/wheel combo are heavier than stock. If you have the stock combo still, you may experiment with them while towing to see if you notice more power.
