Prodigy Manual Lever Adjustment Question

Yesterday morning I picked up a trailer in Georgia to bring back to Ohio. Once I had the trailer hooked up I went to adjust my Prodigy according to the instructions.

It said to hold the lever to the left and adjust it for a reading of 6 then release. Then get up to 25 MPH and move lever to the left; if the trailer brakes lock up, adjust it down, or adjust up if more braking is needed. Repeat until set just below brake lock up occurs.

I ended up adjusting it for max output and it never seemed to have any effect on the trailer brakes so I set it at 9 and left it there.

Did I not do something properly on the manual lever adjustment or is this normal.

Sounds like a brake problem with the trailer.

They seemed to work fine going down the road though. You couldn't even tell the trailer was there, even coming down the mountain. The trailer is only 3500lbs but I would think that if the brakes weren't working I would feel it pushing the truck when I brake.

Find a dirt road and apply the trailer brakes only, too see it if the trailer tires slide in the dirt.
