I hauled (35) 50lb bags of mulch today on level 2 and it hauled like a champ. I could barely feel it. So 1750lbs and got 20.4 mpg and the distance overall was 60 miles. Going back tomorrow to get some more. Have to see what (250) 50lb bags feels like. 12500lbs and I know thats alot. Way more then what I would normally tow but this is that one rare time but I have a feeling I wont be disappointed.

2005 4.6 with 34's, no gears, SI/SO flomaster exhaust, and a CAI.

Not to mention my friend had 25 bags in his 5.4 and I beat him off the line and held him from light to light(just messing around). I love tis thing. I ran the extreme with a 5.4 tune in it the other night and I was launching at 2k in 4low and spinnin all 4 tires. Looked nice as SH*T. Cant wait for tomorrow to see what 12500lbs feels like. Might go on lvl 3 to see how that hauls.

 

i have a v6 i wish i had a v8 now so bad cause i dont think they make edges for the 4.2

I know hauling is not the same as towing, but, you are not supposed to tow with level 3. Only level 2. I would not do it, hard on the tranny.

 

Good to know. Didnt know that. Then Ill tow on lvl2 with the timing up a lil and run 93. Im gonna need all the help I can get towing in excess of 12500lbs or maybe a little more. Thanks for the info.

 

Some day, you may want to consider custom tunes for it. Makes a great thing even better!

 

Ill actually be getting custom tunes from bill very soon. Just havent had the money. But yeah I have heard that custom tunes on an edge are nice and bill is supposed to be the man to go to for custom edge tunes.

 

They are just great! I moved the level 2 tow program over to level one, and then got his 87 Performance and 93 Performance. They are fun!

 

Towed and auled it yesterday. 55 50lb bags in my bed and 100 50lb bags on a trailer. So total weight is 7750lbs. Didnt get as much as I wanted but for the weight I had it towed pretty good. And I still got 14mpg. Very, very happy with it.

 

It's a good thing you didn't try for 12,500# - that's WAY over the allowable max. You were destroying the GVWR anyway with that much in the bed.

 

I haven't called Bill for the custom tunes yet, I keep checking his web site and can't find anything about the trade in procedure(edge). Do I have the wrong web site or is it not up to date yet? My understanding was that he won't custom tune my Edge, I had to trade it off.
