Android Auto and Sync3 on 2016 F150

Very ambiguous--Doesn't even show Sync3 on Ford Website for 2016 F150
I've been trying to stay on top of when Android Auto will be compatible with my 2016 F150 (w/Snyc3) and Samsung S6, however, it doesn't even list the Sync3 as an option for the 2016 F150 on Ford's website when reading through the Sync3 information....very frustrating. Also, I'm inclined to think there will be a fee for updating because the word "UPGRADE" is used in many online articles rather than "UPDATE". Hurry up Ford.....I want to be able to use this to it's fullest.

Android auto along with apple car play is supposed to be available on the 17's across the ford line up. My best guess is once all the 17's are on the lots (fusion, escape, focus, mustang, explorer, edge, 150) the upgrade will be released. Since the 150's usually don't hit the lots until November, you may be waiting until December or January.

I was on the Sync3 chat with Ford a few weeks ago so that would have been mid-November. When I asked when we could use Android Auto she said that was the MILLION DOLLAR question. According to the chat lady, it's still the same song and dance..."an update will be coming soon but she had no ETA".
What sucks is that Ford advertised Apple Play and Android Auto for the 2016 F150 which was obviously a bold face lie!
Does anyone else have a problem with Sync3 working with either Pandora or Spotify then it just stops and the app disappears from Sync? Does that to me all the time with my 2016.

AS of yesterday, 12/9/16 I still had no availability to Android Auto in my 2016 F150. I am going to call Ford support this morning to see when the update will be released. You think when you pay $45 for a truck Navigation would come with it. I'll let the forum know what I'm told by Ford support. The 2 times I've called over the last 60 days I get the same answer, "it will be available by the end of the year."

Just talked to Ford Support
This is the latest response from Ford support:
We are currently waiting for the SYNC 3 software update to be released, which will contain the Android Auto functionality. We do not have an exact release date at this time. You will want to keep an eye on your Owner account for any notifications or updates.

Has anyone taken delivery of a 17 with the sync 3 system and does it have android auto and/or apple car play? If you have a 17 and they are not there, then the update to allow it on 16's will be a long way off. Ford will not release the update if they don't even have it on the new ones coming off the line.
