I have an 2011 F150 With Sync. I am using a Blackberry Tour and a regular thumbdrive for music.

I was having a problem in that sometimes my phone would not connect with the sync when I started the truck up.. and when I would push the phone connect button the system would just lock up and not do anything.. no voice prompts etc.. I could sometimes get things going by pushing the FM button and at least have radio for the trip home.. I was having this sort of thing happen fairly often and even reset the sync system twice...
Over time I have fiugured out two things that greatly help..

number one.. do not start the truck until I turn off my bluetooth earpiece.

number two... remove the thumb drive from the usb port until after the phone connects on startup...
Those two things seem to have solved most of my troubles...
