You did not mention the model of Truck, or the make fo the shock, and if it was lifted or lowered., so I don't know how much this still matter, depends on what you were bitting your tounge about.
Bilstein shocks front and rear Stock height.
From Off road warehouse ( at the time best price I found ).
Front $60.99 each (BE5-2574)
Rear $65.99 each (BE5-2490)
toss in a few bucks for shipping ( think around 20.00 or so ) and an afternoon or grousing around the underside of the truck.
Rear drivers was a PITA to get off, used a strap wench, Bilstein went on like a dream, did the upper tightening through the weel well.
All in all, < $275.00 for the set.
Love the ride of it much more now, coupled with the Helwig rear anti sway bar, hangs a on ramp like nobody's business.
Don't bite your tounge on me, if you found a cheaper place. I'd like to book mark it for later.

I know its a saying, I was asking you to not bite your tounge, if you found them somewhere cheaper then I did.
What were the brand of shock he put in ? ( rancho, eldebrock, Bilstein ).
Did he have a shop do it, or did he do it himself ?
The Bilstein's seem to be expensive on thier own, and if he got those, and had a shop install them, I could see 2 hours fo shop labor at 45 to 60/hr in additon to the cost of the shock, so this could total as much as 400.00 if he had a shop do it ( big SWAG ).
Lots of places had them for 70 & 75, one other was 65 & 70, ORW seemed to be the cheapest, that I found.
Just asking for future ref on the cost of what I got.

I tought one rear was diff
I thought the mounting on one of the rear shocks ( pass rear ? ) was inverted.
Also the SCrew part numbers are different then the L, or I think the equivelant F150 would be a F150 std cap styleside (?).
When I looked the shock p/n for the SCrew were different then the standard F150, they were the same front as an EXPY, and the rear is a Ranger I think ( yes, check it out, strange enough ).
I could be wrong about the inverted pass rear shock, but I seem to recall reading this, that some changed on thier F150, correcting the stock handling to be mroe like a L.

I did try to see if the bar from the diff to the frame would work, but I think mine is a different size, vs the L.
All the same, the Bilstein p/n for the F150 Std cab, short bed were different then mine.
