STX Suspension

STX Suspension
I have a 1998 STX flareside regular cab 2 drive that I want to lower.
Does anybody know the difference between the rear stock height of the STX package and the rear stock height of the regular truck?
I'm told that there is a difference of one or one half inch, but nobody knows exactly.
Also, is it taken out of the hanger? the shackle? the leaf spring?

I have a '98 STX the stock heigth are the same as any other F150 reg cab. If I remember the rear heigth was around 36 inches.
I first used Bell tech 3 front and 4 rear. I have since replaced it with Roush rear springs 31/2 rear and 3 front. I don't believe the ride is much different.
Shocks are the key to your ride. I have tried Rancho 5000 great on lifted trucks, not good on lowered trucks. Bilstein does't really make a shock for lowered trucks (even the Roush bilstein shock is too long I have a couple of friends who have broke the shock and one went through the bed. I now have Edelbrock ISA and an satisfied with the ride. Rear leaf springs are good but can't say they are worth the extra cost.
If I was doing it all over again. I would probably use Bell tech or Ground force springs and shackles.
Shocks would be Bell Tech Nitro-Drop ( were not available when I lowered mine), Edelbrock ISA or KYB's depending on how much you want to spend.
