Comments on the new GT40?
I'm sure most of you have seen it or heard about it by now, but i like the idea of fords new GT40. What do yall think about the concept?
The GT40 concept is powered by a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter 32-valve V8, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 500 horsepower and more than 500 lb-ft of torque.

Of course it's beautiful; so was the original. I'd be surprised if this "concept" ever makes it to the street. I do give Ford credit for finally adding some nads to the Cobra with the charger.

I've read that several places as well. The likelyhood that these comments are more than "BIG TALK" would surprise me. When Ford tools up to put this on the street and finds a target market for them in that price range is when I'll believe the talk. If it was ever produced, it would most likely be a promotional car that gets pre-sold or used as a showroom marketing tool. You'll never see a row of these at a dealership.

I am sooo happy they finally will (most likely) make a car that is comparable to the viper and Z06 vette's. The cobra stang's are sweet but they dont run with the viper you have to get a saleen to even come close. I heard that it might "only" be $70,000 which really isnt that bad considering what vipers and upper vette's cost not to mention ferrari's and lambo's. If this car prodices like they say it can compete with any of those cars. I want the engine out of one of those more then anything. I could use a couple of them for all kinds of stuff. Now if only they would put the 5.4 in the mustang.
I'll take a yellow one, or red whichever is easier

IT will be in production
Yes...you can buy it...but for prices into triple figures!!!
Ford announced it will go into production during the Great Cleveland Auto Show back in March.
Great looking car...too bad only an elite few will ever own one. I would love to know what 500HP and 500LB of torque would feel like.

Sign me up!
I don't have $70K to through around, or $7 for that matter. But I think I could start selling body parts to raise some cash. That is how much I like the idea. I heard you can get like 30 grand for a kidney these days. Well I have got two of them. Whoa-hoa! I am almost there! lol! I wonder how much first born children go for these days? j.k.
