Pro-comp Lift? Need Help Asap!!!

Hello to all,
I ordered a 4" rancho KIT from 4wheelParts 2 weeks ago, and they call me today asking for my Trans type, and then they tell me that no one has the kit, it will take another 3 weeks to get one. N-E-Ways, he said that he would give me the Pro-Comp kit for the same price, but I know nothing about that kit. IS THE PRO-COMP KIT AS GOOD AS THE RANCHO? SHOULD I TAKE IT?

PLEASE HELP HE IS CALLING ME BACK SOON,

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I have a 2001 4x4 ORP 5.4 Auto (E40D)

Im not sure that Pro Comp makes a 4" kit! I think they only make a 3" and 6" I've never seen a 4" Pro Comp. It's an OK kit but I hear that they had a recal on their front control arms.

From what 4wheel shows, the Pro Comp kit is about $200 more then the Rancho kit. As for the kits, Rancho uses a 1 piece center member to lift the suspension. The Pro Comp kit uses diffrent brackets to acheive the same result. Both seem to have a good kit but most people I talked to said they liked the Rancho kit, because of the shocks. Pro Comp does state that you can fit a 35" tire mounted on a 16.5x9.75" rim. Also I think they offer a free alignment with this kit. Good luck.

I have the Rancho 4" lift on my 98 f150 and wouldn't trade it for anything. I got mine from 4wheel parts and they installed it about 2 years ago. I tow a 6000 pound boat 75 miles each way to the lake and havn't had one problem with the lift. I would suggest to wait for the rancho.

the pro-comp kit is infact 4" for the 4x4 f150. I have heard nothing but good things about the pro-comp company but have no feedback as to the specific lift. My friend has the procomp on his 250 and it has been a great kit. I personnally would go with procomp just because I am not a real big fan of rancho(nothing bad to say, just like the procomp more).

Thanks for all of the help.

I went ahead and had them ship me the Pro-Comp lift, but I talked to 4Wheel Parts in Dallas, and told them the story and they said that I could trade it for the Rancho kit!!

Thanks again,

What did you finally do? Which lift did you end up with and how do you like it?

DITCH THE PRO-COMP!

Get the Rancho kit man! I promise you that I have seen too many of the pro comp kits that after a couple years are un-able to keep a front end allignment that its not even funny! The Rancho one peice subframe is the only sure-fire way for toughness and longeviety. Lets say its the difference of having a Ford over a Chevy! lol
You cant go wrong with the Rancho and wont ever be sorry you waited. The 4 wheel parts yo-yo's will tell you anything to sell the Pro comp as they did with me. Seeing Pro comp = 4 wheel parts own brand its not too surprising.
