Help on tire / suspension / wheel offset combos

Good Morning Everyone,

I know this has been talked to death but I can't seem to find the info to answer all of my questions.

I have a 2011 F-150 FX4 with the 5.0 and 3.73s.

I will be pulling a 32 foot travel trailer on a regular basis.

I love the look of the 4" and 6" lifted trucks but I'm not able to go that route just yet. So I was thinking of adding a leveling kit to the truck along with some new wheels and tires to give it a more aggressive stance. I'd like to fit some wider over sized tires but from what I've read 35's will hurt me in the towing department.

I really like the Moto Metal MO970 wheels and would like to get an offset that lets them hang out a little with a wider tire along with some "elevation adjustment".

So what kind of leveling kit can I get to bring me level and what wheel / tire size combo can I run to get the look?

Pictures are always appreciated.

EDIT - So I immediately found a thread on the forums using google and came across a truck that has the exact stance i want. It's owned by Desert Dawg. Would I need to change my gearing with the 295/60R20 tires n order to pull my trailer?

thanks

Your gearing will be fine with the 373's and running a 295/60/20. I was kind of in the same situation when I bought my truck back in 05, really liked the lifted look but was not practical for my situation. I went with a 2.5" level with the BFG KO in a 285/65/20 on a nine inch wheel with a backspace close to oem. They are over 34" tall and fill the wheel wells but not as heavy or wide so they don't rob me of power when pulling my boat.

I have a 2010 4x4 platinum with stock height and rims (20x8.5). I am looking at some 20x9 fuel krank rims with a +18 mm offset (so that the tires stick out just barely), and 285/65r20 tires. I want that aggressive look with decent tread like the BIG's or Nitto's, but I rarely get to off road so I need something that doesn't destroy my mileage or make a ton off noise. I am also looking at a 2.5" level for the front and a 1.5" level for the back to even it out. With that level would all of that fit without rubbing or any need for any modifications? It sounds very similar to your rig so I thought I'd ask!

you will need to re gear the truck, larger tires makes the final drive ratio taller....thus "lowering the gear ratio. Your truck will hesitate at launch and or shift more often as the tcm is programmed for a different tire and gear set. You can get a flash tuner and add a tow tune with the ability to modify or change the wheel and tire size to accurately reflect your true wheel speed.

im running a 2010 platinum 4x4. I'm looking at the 285/65r20 tires, either the BFG KO2's like you, or the nitto terra grapplers. Either way, they will be going on 20x9 rims I will be ordering. I also bought a 2.5" level like you that I will be installing. I have 2 options for the rims, +20 mm offset or +01 mm. I want them to stick out just a little, at most an inch. Which offset should I choose? I don't want any rubbing and I don't want to trim. Given your experience with this tire, what would you suggest?

With the +20 you will have a 5.8" back space which will keep you close to stock not taking into consideration the extra width of the rim. Mine is 5.9" and I have never had any issues. Here is what mine looked like right after I put the tires and rims on.
