Hp power steering hose wore through one of the steel lines on the steering housing. At first I thought it was the hp hose because it was soaked in Mercon v. Who would think plastic would cut metal?

To get a new line from ford you have to order the entire p/s unit. I was lucky to have a local shop silver solder for a repair of the line !

 

To further add some life, line with a rubber hose. I did this in my sports car for the hill cooler when routing hoses across front crash bar. Doubled up in the pressure points
