Remote reservoir rear shocks?

I was wondering if you guys have any experience with remote reservoir rear shocks on 04-08 trucks? I have Bilstein 5100's up front 2.5" and standard 5100's in the rear with a 3" block. It's about time for new shocks all around and was wondering if any of the Bilstein (or other brand) remote reservoir shocks would work on my truck with the 3" block. Also, are there any reasons not to get them? I would like to say I plan on racing my truck off road and across Baja but the real reason is that they look cool. Thanks for the help.

LARIAT - I deleted the other thread you started on this topic. Duplicate threads lead to confusing responses that can waste your time and result in extra expense.
