Rear leaf springs(2001 SC)

Hey guys, need some advice.. 2001 Supercrew Lariat, I've been trailering my 28ft center console with what seems like the original leaf springs and a block in the rear.. Well, the boat has flattened out the leaf springs leaving only about an inch between tire and rear quarter panel while trailering. What is my best option here? I've got a 6" suspension and 2" body lift.. The truck sits what I call 'bull dog' but I'd like it to sit level again as the boat is not light. Truck sits on 37's and 20's..

I found a 6" skyjacker leaf spring set on ebay, is that what i'm going to have to go with? Looking for the best leaf springs for trailering and my lift setup. Appreciate all the help!

What's the tongue weight of what you're towing? Airbags could be a good choice, AAL, or new leaf packs.

How much are you trying to lift the rear of the truck?

I really don't know the exact weight.. I've tried my 5 1/4" drop hitch, 2" drop, 2" raised and my 5 1/4" raised to see which towed the best. My 2" turned upside down(raised) seemed to take the majority of the weight off(before my leaf springs compressed so much)..

I don't necessarily need to raise the rear, as long as it trailers fine. My problem right now is when braking. The weight of the boat when braking hard pushes the rear quarter panel into the tire making it sound like it's going to rip it off. It was perfectly fine for months. I can really see when I hook it up to the trailer now the rear end loses many inches of clearance..

This is more along the lines of, should I fix this old girl or get a new truck as well.. Everyone loves not having a payment, but unfortunately, she needs some work.. The IFS is shot(3rd time, 37's are not easy on it.. pitman, idler, ball joints etc) She's got 134k on her and is still strong engine/tranny wise.. 4wd works perfect, which is why i'm thinking about keeping it. The rear end may need to be fixed soon as well.

If I can keep the cost down somewhat, i'll fix it

What's the total weight you're pulling then? Sounds heavy!

If your truck can safely pull it, either some HD springs or airbags would help so it doesn't squat and that would also solve the problem of the tires hitting the rear panel.

Loaded down, full of fuel(240 gallons), fishing gear, ice etc, ~9500 lbs.. Pulls it no problem.. I also upgraded brake calipers, slotted/drilled rotors plus trailer brakes..

you're significantly exceeding the vehicle's capacity

I'd look at getting a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck to safely pull that heavy of a trailer
