Lower control arm shock mount?

I have a 2001 SC 4x4, the should mount tab on the lower control broke off. A guy here at work welded it back on with a wire feed welder just to get me by until my new one arrives. He was thinking the arm was cast and the weld would not hold for long. its been three days but all I have done is drive to work and back and tryting to avoid all the pot holes. Any ideas on how long this weld could last. I know theres alot of varibables just wondering?

If he was a good welder, it should be good now if he put a heavy weld on it.

can last from: 1hour.... to: the life of the arm.

cast is a hit and miss when welded (a good welder with good preparation will make it work just as good as a new one.)
