Best HD rear shock for towing 2014screw

Hey guys,

Im looking to upgrade the factory rear shocks on my 2014 F150 4wd to something more suited to heavy towing applications. I am looking for something with a decent to long life span and will hold up well to a heavy trailer behind the truck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

-Dennis

Just keep in mind (just in case this is your logic of thinking), shocks have nothing to do with the load carrying capability of your truck and will not improve that. Many folks misinterpret or completely don't understand what a shocks job is.

I know they have nothing to do with capacity. I just want something that will hold up to the abuse of a trailer bouncing them around.

Didn't mean to cross post. Thought it would be best to keep the separate.

Thank you all.

F150lifts.com BOSS have suited me well. I hear very good things of the Fox offerings as well.

I'm bias.

And take advantage of this.

Haha, thank you, I feel safer knowing that the pitch forks are being put on ice for now.

Haven't read all the flier, but looks cool. Ive actually never run Rancho shocks.

Thanks for all the responses!

My work trailer is a 20' kearny trailer that weighs about 2500 lbs. It likes to bounce depending on the load and I really just want something that will deal with the strain.

I just pulled the trigger on Rancho 9000's for my 08 screw mostly due to ability to quickly adjust dampening according to load vs no load. Went with Quick lifts on front to take advantage of the current promotion...

If you are hooked up a lot the 9 is a good choice just for the ability to "firm" up the rear.
Again good luck!!!

have you thought about using the Firestone Ride-Rite leveling airbags? they bolt up between the leaf packs and the frame and pretty much absorb most of the weight of whatever you're towing/hauling so your rear suspension doesnt get beat up as much. also they level out your truck for added safety while towing. i had them on my 05 F250 Powerstroke and i liked them so much im getting them for my '13 F150.

It seems like there aren't too many things listed for 2014 trucks. Ranchos website lists nothing for a 14.

Yet, I often forget that we haven't launched the for the 2/4WD. We are working on these right now.

Airbags are totally awesome and I certainly have bags, but bags won't address what he's looking for. Although I'll be the first to admit "need" is not always a decision point for me, you certainly don't "need" bags for a 2,500 lb trailer.
