2wd Lift, need help!

Hey guys, just joined the site yesterday, and Im in desperate need of New struts and Ball joints on my 05 Texas Edition. It is 2wd and I have a 2.5" spacer already, and I'm wanting to get the Bilstien 5100 Adjustable struts for front and rear. My question is, should I stack the Spacer with the new struts and add a block in the back So I can get 2'' extra lift since I am running 315 70 r17's (34.6") tires and they scrub just a little! The guy next door at the Shop said it should be ok since my spacer is on top of my struts, but what do you guys recommend? Need a cheap route, thanks!

Having 4.5" of lift in the front from the spacer and taller strut is way too high. It will tear your ball joints and tie rods up. Everybody says don't go above 2.5" without getting a full lift kit with drop brackets and stuff

Thanks man, What do you think about 2'' full body lift PLUS the Bilstien Adjustable Struts?

That would work fine. But go with a 3" body, the 2" kits don't come with relocation brackets for the bumpers.

Plus, I don't think anyone makes a 2 inch body lift for your truck. Add the body lift or remove your spacer and install a full 6 inch suspension lift.

If you have the money on hand (at least $1300 unless you find a deal on ebay or something), go with a 6" suspension lift. If not, do the new struts plus a 3" body

Ok, Well thanks guys! I see Online they sell up to 3.5'' spacers for a 2wd F150 and since I'm replacing My ball joints/tie rods at the same time anyways, do you think If I adjusted the Struts with the 2.5'' spacer I have on already to the 1'' mark for a total of 3.5'' would it wear on the NEW ball joints to bad? Has anyone tried this or know anybody who has and what results did they get? Just broke right now and don't have the extra cash to get the Full body Lift! Thanks

I think if you do that you will be replacing ball joints again in the near future.

I used to have a custom HBS 3.5" spacer, and will wear through ball joints every 9-10 months, i've since dropped down to a 2.75" , 3/4" may not sound like much difference, but when it comes to components, save you lots of money in the long run.

Bad idea. 2.5" is the max

Yea if your broke don't try to push your luck. Stick to 2.5" or below like everyone's said.

Thanks for the input, I guess I will be just taking off my spacer when I get the Bilstiens. One other question though! Since the Rear Bilstiens have a 1'' lift "compatible", if I get a 2.5'' block in the rear will they work or do I need a strut extender? Thanks again.
