Decided i want to go prerunner style.

so i decided i want to turn my truck into a pre runner, everyone in my town just puts a 6" lift or whatever but i dont want to be like everyone else. now before i say any more my truck is a 4wd.. yes yes i know i wont get as much travel out of a 4wd but i probably wont be as hard on it as most people are on their pre runners. so im not sure where i should start with this, i dont have the money to do it all at once so it will be a slow project. but if someone knows of any tips and where to get my parts cheap i would really appreciate it! i know i want to get an n-fab rsp pre runner bumper and tire carrier, they are cheap and i like the looks of them alot. i looked on fiberwerx website for the bed sides and fenders and they seem pretty cheap. havent looked to much at suspension yet because i dont know what a good brand is or anything, i think the cheaper the better since i wont be to extreme with it. thanks guys hope someone can help me.

Expect to spend 6k or so at minimum on suspension. Parts dont come cheap, even if you buy them used. However if your serious about this, get over on dezertrangerz and start doing a lot of research.

Suspension work first in my opinion. Nothing else will look good or flow right without the suspension done.

Yup, do front suspension and front fiberglass around the same time. Then rear suspension and rear glass at the same time. Then move onto bumpers and stuff.

Some companies would be camburg, blitzkreig (spelling?), HnM, Dixon Bros, Deaver, GMR (he might have stopped though), Richer Racing. I'm sure one of those companies would have something that'd be useful to you. But you'll find a lot more info over on dezertrangerz.

I would love to go prerunner some day. Just cost way too much to setup properly. Good luck with the build and keep us updated on progress!

From research years ago they seemed to be a good company.

looks like a good kit, It looks like its $5300 so i would weigh your options between them and other companies.

They're pretty good. As for rear all you need is a bed cage, a set of deaver leaf springs, and most like a 2.5x16 shock preferably remote resivoir

ok so where can i get a bed cage?? i do use my truck as a daily driver and i do have a quad i haul around on weekends so i kind of want a low profile one if that is possible i dont know. ill probably go with the dixon bros kit then since the only other 4wd kit i can find is jdfab and they are a little more costly. deaver springs are on the list lol

yes i don't think any company sells a bedcage off the shelf. make some friends that know how to weld and you can get one for cheap lol

Dixon bro's sell's them, they just don't list them on their website but you could email them and try. Otherwise since you want it low profile you'll probably have to get it custom fabbed up. It's not hard to do if you can weld and do a little math, you just have to cycle the suspension to find the proper place to mount the shocks.

And, yes bumpstops are a must. Without those you'll overcompress the suspension and end up damaging something up front. In the rear without them you can end up breaking a leaf. And I'd go with the 2.5 bumps, matching them to the size of the shock seems to be a general rule. Just don't cheap out and get those poly bumps.
