Need to replace skyjacker shocks, need reccomendations

Hey all, so i have had the skyjacker 6" on the truck for less than 10K miles, and have taken it offroad quite a bit(mostly trail riding, some mudding mostly sand) and the shocks are SHOT. The front is starting to sag, and the rear is SQUEEKY as *****, and i can push the bed down with 1 hand. SO, its time to replace the shocks front and rear.

What do you all suggest? i know i want the front to lift up another 1-2" from where it sat when i first put on the skyjacker kit, it just looks lower to me than the rear.

What year model are we talking? You're not going to get any lift from shocks. All the shocks do is control oscillation. Lift comes from the springs. The only solution for the front is to replace the springs. You can probably get the springs re-arched if they're leaf springs, but my experience with that process has been short lived. I wouldn't use a coil spacer in any application that utilizes coil springs.

its a 2005, and whats wrong with a leveling kit? and I know that the Bilstein 5100's DO lift the front end 0-2".... just not sure if they will do that with the truck being lifted already

been covered recently. IIRC you can do a set of bilstein 5100 adjustables for a 4-6" lift and set them at the 2" setting. I'm not 100% sure, search a bit for them as not many go this route for some reason but it's the best way IMO before spending all that coin on coilovers.

Bilsteins are the way to go if you offroad.

Having same problem with my skyjacker kit on my 08 screw 2wd. 4th replacement shock and now I am feed-up. Bilstein 4-6" shocks arriving today to replace skyjunker crap. Haven't seen this done on 2wd only 4wd but I am giving it a shot. Something else has to be done. If anyone has pics of this done on a 2wd please pm me or just post pics. thanks, soory not trying to hi-jack thread

Just replaced skyjunker struts with bilsteins struts for 4-6" lift. Worked great, able to remove 1.5" strut spacer bc bilteins' gave me addition 1-1.5" of lift from skyjacker struts. Ride is 300% better. Topguncustomz.com $288 for fronts, still have to replace rear.

I think mine were the nitro shocks in the rear but for the front I dont think you have a choice. You just get the skyjacker strut that will fall apart on you. They use to have a coil-over but they dont make it any more for our trucks from what I understand.

That is amazing news for me.. I have noticed that the front end sits about 1-1.5" lower than the back and was planning on getting a spacer, but you telling me the bilsteins will cure this problem just makes me all giddy

Go with the cheaper, and order bilsteins to replace them. i spent the extra money on the nitro and regret it. They are worthless.
