While replacing UCA, lower BJ, tie-rod ends, what else should i examine for wear?

have an '06 harley edition with AWD/4H.

Don't know much more about the front end other than the items mentioned in the title.

i will also be adding some bilstein 5100 shocks when i do this work.

so what should i check/replace while i am into it that deep?

thanks

Inner tie rods
LCA bushings
Sway bar endlinks/bushings
Front hub bearings

CV axle boots (4x4 or AWD)

Remember to tighten bushings with the weight on the truck so the stay clocked in the correct driving position

i was told ball joints were needed when i tried to have it aligned. they also quote $900

i just visually inspected them and they look okay. however, when the rain stops some day i will jack it up and check them closer...

live north of DFW about an hour. lived in dallas and tarrant county for 35 years...

Yea ball joints typically go between 100 and 120 in stock form.

You'll be surprised how much nicer it will drive after replacing the ball joints.

Let me know if you want me to build a install quote for you

well, today i took some time to examine the front end parts listed above.

i believe the dude at the alignment placed lied to me.

i have no tears in any ball joint covers, no leaks, no loose points where you can see play and no noises when i rock the wheel left/right or up/down. i had a friend help and neither of us saw anything visual.

i believe i will go to a shop in Dallas to get the alignment done. Not too many places up where i live that can align 22's.

Can someone recommend a good alignment shop in the north dallas suburbs?

thanks

A story for you - a few years ago my son in law took his 98 F-150 over to Goodyear to get state inspection done. They told him he needed 3 out of 4 ball joints. Took it over to a local tire shop, they said everything was fine, only needed an alignment, they aligned it and gave him a sticker.

happens all the time...

not to me, at least not most of the time.

i am fairly mechanically inclined and don't take kindly when lied to by a shop.

their name will be mud with me and everyone i know if this truck gets aligned else where.,
