Unhappy Rear axle rebuild coming...need advise

Unfortunately, the October snowstorm here in Denver took it's toll on my truck - 2006 F150 KR 4x4. I slid sideways into a curb ln the driver's side rear (pretty hard), and have broken the wheel, bent the hub and axle, bent the left leaf springs, bent the differential housing, and possibly the differential. There is no telling what else might be wrong with it once the mechanics start to tear it a part a little more. Hopefully there is no damage to the left front...I think the left rear really took the majority of the beating.

My question is this...what else should I make sure the mechanics are looking at? [I took it to the Ford Dealership.] It is going to be an insurance claim, so I want to make sure that everything gets fixed.

-Also, since they are going to replace 1 side of the rear leaf springs, do I need to go ahead and replace both of them? I'm afraid the truck may not sit level.

Also, since the rear end is going to be torn apart, are there any upgrades I should be considering? On my list...

-Add-a-leaf (to raise the rear end a little bit after I did the coil spacers in the front a few years ago...and to tow better)
-changing gears from 3.73 to 4.11 (I doubt I do this because I assume I would have to change the gears in both axles and I don't want to spend that kind of money)

Thanks in advance.

the upgrades are good, but are you planning on getting this done at the dealership? I would think they would try to charge way too much for the labor...

i think your best bet is to go to the auto wreckers and swap out a whole used rear end. I think in the long run it will be cheaper and you know all parts are decent
