6" lift with 34" tires

Needed new tires bad and decided to get BFG 305/65/18 All terrains, listed at 33.7" diameter. I am interested in getting a 6" lift and was wondering if anyone has a 6" lift with these tires, or any tires less than 35s. This is all i've seen and have been looking extensively. The last thing I want to do is get the lift on and look at brand new tires looking too small that I'd have to replace. Any help is appreciated.

Btw, truck is a 2005 FX4 scab with with leveling kit, allowed nice fit for the BFG 305s

thanks

I think they will look to small with the lift. I just lifted mine and put 35's on it and already, I want 37's.

I will try and get some pics when I get to work and post them shortly after. I am worried that the 34s will look too small with the lift, but they are really only a 1/2" difference on the radius, just really want to see some pics of that setup before i go ahead.

I'll get those pics soon.

what kinda backspacing do you have? how soon are you looking at getting the lift? I honestly thought I was within a month of buying my lift for about 8 months before I actually did it, and I was glad I waited and did it all at once... The backspacing will play into the decision bigtime... you could get some Mickey Thompson 35x1250 ATZs. I really like those. Thought about them alot, but I decided to get the BFGs instead, but I think the ATZs would do better offroad. Another thing, yours is a 2005, so depending on your brake caliper size you may not be able to go lower in rim size, but I was able to fit 17s on there, and tires are much much cheaper and easier to find in the size you want.

I think the stock backspacing is 5.5"+. If I were to lift it I would buy new 18" rims and hopefully keep the new tires I just bought, don't really want to replace brand new tires to go from 34" to 35", but don't want to lift it either if the 34s will look too small. Here are a couple pics.

Thanks again for any help.

will they look small - yes
it wont look terrible though

one thing that might help it look better would be to find rims with 4.5 backspacing to give that wide stance look.

what i would do : either wait till you need tires again
or
sell your tires and man up to some 37's to so ur not upgrading just 1"

If you put your lift on with those tires your just going to want to go bigger anyways, so I would put the lift on only if your going to have 35's+ .. I always hear people saying when they decide to go with the smaller setup that they wish they went bigger. Or you could just go with the 4" rancho lift.

Thanks.... It looks like I'll probably just end up staying as is and not lift it. By the time these tires wear out maybe it will be time for a new truck. Would still be interested to see any pictures if they are out there, doesn't seem thats likely the case tho.

I was in your same situation sometime ago but with 33's. So I decided to get the lift anyway yeah the tires did look small but I didnt care. I got the 35's a year after. It's up to you really, but I know once you get the lift your going to want to get bigger tires no matter what size you get first, whether it be a 33 or 35. My next size is going to be a 37

If you want to see pics I can post some up when I get home.

Here's a post I added in another thread that was asking about 33's and a lift.
