Torsion Bar Question

Are getting keys for the torsion bars even worth it, or would it just be easier just to crank them?

you already have oem torsion keys. you can crank them up fully for about 2'' or so of lift. you will face no issues obtaining an alignment within factory specs, either.

aftermarket torsion keys are reindexed, and allow you to put way too much preload on the bars, and therefore crank way too high. i'm talking like up to 3''. your ride quality will be destroyed, and your truck will rip cv boots and pop ball joints if you go this route. also, you probably will have issues obtaining a correct alignment.

in short, use your stock torsion keys to crank up the bars, and get an alignment afterwards.

I agree. Why pay money for a product that allows you to do something you can do for free? Aftermarket torsion bar adjustment keys have to be one of the biggest ripoffs in the aftermarket industry.

I was wondering how far you really can go before you go 2 far and how to tell if 2 far is 2 far.

I cranked mine 2 turns each to get the front tires out of the valence, I also get free alignments which helps but yes I would like to know if you can go all the way without too much stress

i measured the tires to the fender today on the front and back. The back only sits one inch higher than the front. How many turns do you think would be good to level it out?
