Autospring

I was looking at a 2.5" AS, I was wondering how hard it is to install it, and if I can't do it, how much would it cost to have it installed?

There is a super write-up about the level installation in this same thread. Look for it and you'll see what is involved. As far as someone doing the install plus alignment (only toe-in) I'd say about $150.00. I just ordered a AS 2 1/2" kit myself.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'm going to show my dad the install and see if he'd be interested in helping. I have lifetime Rotate, Balance and alignment, so I should be good to go on that, thanks!

i wouldnt pay 100.00 for an install.... it might take you 30-40 minutes to do the first side, and then probaby 15 minutes on the next side. since you have free alignments, i would install youself, and get the whole job for free !!!!

there is a risk with anything, just make your torque everything back to spec and you should be fine.

Its not a bad install. I asked my local shop and they said it would be around $250. I did it in my garage in bout 2 hrs. The directions dont call for it, but I would rent a spring compressor so you wouldnt have to pop the strut all the way out. Just my .02

I had my 2.5 AS put on by Trick Trucks....1 hour later and $110 out the door. The alignment....I got lucky. The place that I trust was having an open house, got it done for $50.

How much would that cost me do you think? 250 is more than I'd spend haha

I'd pay 110 out the door for it, but I don't want to pay more

trust me.... compressing these springs WOULD NOT be easier, but, it would make it a whole more more dangerous !!! these springs are pretty stiff to compress (my pucker factor was TIGHT when i installed my bilsteins)

plus, you have to remove the whole strut assembly in order to install the spacer. the bolt pattern on the spacer will change the mounting direction when you re-install it (basically, what was facing inside will now face outside, and vice versa). this is because the bolt pattern isnt evenly spaced at 120 degrees..... so it can only go in one way, and if the spacer wasnt "offset" the bolts on the strut would be too long (especially on the 1.5" leveling kits).

as i said earlier, if you do this job at home, you will be very happy you didnt pay for it. just read the directions ahead, and you will be all set.

Just check around. Any shop that changes out struts can do this. A big custom lift shop that has done big lifts for me on Jeeps, quoted me $200. Another small shop that did my alignment wanted $150. Shocked when TrickTrucks told me $110. Check around.....Yea for the price I got, could not pass it up to let them do it. At 200..I would of tackled it myself.
