Levelling

Just been looking around and have noticed how nicely a levelling kit really cleans up these trucks. I have a 98 flareside 4x4 and was wondering what is the best kit to level the front end out on these? also what size tires will levelling it out allow me to fit in there? Thanks

you do not need to spend any money to level it besides the cost of an alignment. go under your truck and crank the torsion bar bolts. make sure to do each side the same amount of turns. then once you get the desired height of the front end achieved take her in for an alignment. all done. any more questions just ask.

as for tires, you can fit up to 33s on this setup. depends on if your getting new wheels or keeping the stockers.

Right. Just crank up the torsion bars and get some 33's. 35's will fit (barely) if you use the oem wheels, but 33's on a nice aftermarket wheel looks a lot better in my opinion.

awesome thanks guys. Os it easy to crank those up? Or are they usually siezed up? Does this put any added stress on ball joints etc?

Follow the torsion bar back from the lower a-arm to underneath your cab. The torsion bar ends at a crossmember. At the end you will see the adjustment key and bolt. There is one on each side. Just tighten each bolt an equal number of turns and get an alignment. It's that easy.
Also, anytime you lift the front end it puts the ball joint at a more extreme angle. Personally I don't think you can go far enough with the oem keys to get the ball joint or CV joint angles too extreme. That's why the aftermarket keys are such a bad idea. They allow you to crank the torsion bars up way to far and create some extreme ball joint and CV joint angles that will cause premature wear.
