Question Brush Guard Question w/ 3inch Body Lift.

I have a 3" body lift and am looking at buying a brush guard for my 97 f150 4x4 will I have any problems with lineing up around the headlights? Do you use some kind of extension or what? The guy that put my body lift on had to trim some of the frame studs off in front where the tow hooks are. Is that normal for fitment?

You will have to fabricate some brackets to raise the bruch guard 3 inches. Also, yes have to trim a little bit off the frame on the 97-03's when you install a body lift.

Even 04-08 you have to cut a peice of frame.

For simple install, go with a bullbar. With a brushguard you will need new bracket to raise it 3''.

Thanks

I appreciate the quick responses guys. One of these days I'll get this truck the way I want. Of course by then I'll probably want something new.(Different). I will probably just look into the bull bar, that will be sufficient.

i dont really know how your tow hooks are mounted but this info might help. the brush guard that i have on my 97 has mounts that bolt in under the tow hooks. the top one has mounts with extensions that slide in behind the front bumper and then bolt to the guard
