Check out the cage he put in his "truck". Looks sick, and not over the top. Runs it out of the cab and into the bed also. Something like this would look pretty nice on yours.
Well, if it bottomed out, then I don't see how a mini truck didn't. I am willing to bet the Jeep had more ground clearance then the mini truck. Has nothing to do with the Jeep supposedly sucking, has to do with not having big enough tires. So no way did the 2wd truck make it through if the jeep couldn't. He might of ran the outside, while the Jeep went up the middle, but they didn't run the same course.
It is a lot easier and cheaper to lift a Jeep, then a truck. Also, to fit 35s, it isn't that hard.
TJ- 4-5" for 35s
JK- 2" for 35s
i was impressed with the mini truck, thats one of the reasons i got my fj40 b/c i was impressed how well it did in stock form, so i am expecting alot out of my fj40 when its done w/ its spring over and 35s
CODE those are nice... i like them. i just want to have a step recessed into it.
i really doubt ill hang on the body since i have a body lift. but i like the thought of being able to pivot the body on something if i had to.
I don't have a body lift either Mine are mounted on the frame using 2x2 outriggers and 6x6 plates welded directly to the frame. I cut nearly 5"s off the bottom of the body. I only did that though because my rockers were rotted out.
Building some steps in would be pretty easy. I would like to extend these out abit so I can really use them as pivots. You could build them out of tube really easy as well.
Cecil, why don't you just gut the body lift? its not like it's that much of a loss... unless you are keeping to prevent from having to cut the body up too much, i see no reason to keep it, really.

Im leaving the body lift for future upgrades.
Ill need room for the potential motor. on board air system and a few other goodies.
Plus its too much of a pain to take it off. I dont have any of the stock stuff.
