Shocks on 1994 F-150 RWD, front and rear

I just bought a 1994 F-150 XLT RWD with a 5.0 302. I had inspected the undercarriage before but missed the fact that there are no shocks on this truck. Only springs in the front, and leaf springs in the rear. Is this normal?
