RE-torque my body lift bolts ???

When I installed my 3" PA body lift, I remember the instructions saying that I have to go back in and re-tighten all of the bolts to the correct torque specifications after so many miles. It also instructed me to use locktight when initially putting it all on. My question is, if I go back in and re-torque all the hardware then won't that break loose the locktight? Or do I just take the bolts completely out, put new locktight on them, and THEN retorque them down? Or will it defeat the purpose if I remove them first or something?

THANKS!

I just finished with my own 3" body lift and was wondering about the re-torques myself. I don't think we need to take them out completely, but that the re-torque is simply to see if any of them have worked loose. I plan on just simply putting the torque wrench on an re-torque.

The signature pic below is without the 3' body, so I need to update. I am also going to post a few pics of the process ASAP.

hi, i have a body lifted 03, put on the kit about six months ago, and never bothered to retorque the bolts. i also have offroaded pretty heavily several times since then, and none of the bolts have come loose. honestly, if you are not feeling any play/vibration at any of the mounts, i would not worry about it. the loctite is holding them down fine.

retorquing the bolts is a bigger deal with a suspension lift than a body lift.

It is probably one of those deals where the company says to do it just in case one was missed and more likely CYA.

I've had my BL for about 2 years and and I only retorqued my bed bolts and that was because I off roaded it very rough once. I dented my front skid plate and everything... I noticed that a couple of the bed bolts shifted a little and creased the bed liner around them. I had to cut the liner off around the bolts initially to get the OEM ones out because they were covered.

If you installed them correctly and put locktight on them, I wouldn't worry about retorquing them, unless you notice an similar situation to mine. And then, it was only the bed bolts.

There's is no way I'm pulling the seats out, trim, rolling back carpet, etc... just to do the cab bolts. What a PITA. Not worth it IMO...

Never really had a problem though with the BL...

Yeah but if it needs to be done then I would rather just bite the bullet and do it to be safe. The thing is my truck is squeaking a lot so I'm wondering if they have something to do with it or not...
