need help(body lift)

I already did the bed of the truck but now I am trying to take off the bolts to the cab I already got the very front two but inside the cab I started off on the drivers side and I cant get the bolt out because this rubber bushing like thing keeps spinning and I tried to hold it with a pair of pliers but I couldnt.

would yall have any suggestions on how I shoulf go about getting that part off.

Soak the bushings/nuts with penetrating oil and then use a large pair of channel lock pliers or a pipe wrench to hold them while another person removes the bolts.

Ford puts crazy lock-tite on those bolts, I had to hit mine with the propane torch and heat them up a bit, them they came loose.

the hardest time i had was on the front two bushings in the front of the fenderwells. however, the front cab bolts were a bitch too. you really need two people for this. hold off on heat as the last resort, it may damage/ destroy the bushing or something else. you need one person to hold the bushing with a large pair of channel locks, and you need to turn that bolt out as hard as you can. you're literally going to fight it every turn out.

if you absolutely do not have another person, try jacking up a block of wood onto the bottom of the bushing to hold it steady, while you turn the bolt out. i don't know how well this will work, i have only heard of other people doing it.

well so far the cab bolts have been the biggest pain in the butt for me I have got the front most bolts on the cab off and the rear two off it is just the two in middle as for the bed I had to grind the heads off of two of them and then buy new nuts and washer for those two. But I guess I am just going to have to hope that I get them off tomorrow

also do you think that I should go ahead and completely take the bed off of the truck and put a spray coat of under coat on the frame or nah to much work

In regards to the body bolts, I just finished taking them off my truck tonight and putting on the 3" body lift bushings. It is sitting there waiting for me to go back and torque them down one at a time. I do have a question for anyone who has done this before. It appears that the threads on the new bolts are not long enough (just not enough threads maybe). If I start torquing this thing down, is it going to strip out the lower part of the bushings are get messed up?

They should be long enough. Just make sure you have the right bolt in the right location. Some are longer than others if I remember correctly.

I actually called the PA representative and he also reassured me that the bolts are correct in length. After some careful examination during the day light hours (at lunch today), I believe that I have everthing in the right place and I am ready to torque them down. I plan to post some before and afters when she is finished. Thanks for the help.

I just finished torquing the body bolts I want to give a special thanks to the misses for a little elbow grease. Now I can really start buttoning the thing back together.

i love it when a project comes together.

stephen-

adding an undercoating is all up to you. if you want to take the time to do it then go ahead. wont hurt anything and may help in the long run. everything come together for you alright?

lets see some pics!

Yeah the driver side front bushing was the hardest for me. It would not come out AT ALL. What Wandell suggested worked for me after awhile. The rest of the cab/bed bolts were relatively easy.
