Hydro line on tranny....problems!!!!!

I have pulled the 5spd tranny on my f150 4 times now and you would think i would get good at the hydraulic fitting on the tranny to the slave cylinder... But every time i go to do it it takes my forever to get the line undone. I have the tool for it and everything. I just sit there and fiddle with it for ever and finally it pops off. Not the case today.

Any suggestions? What’s the proper method for it anyways. I try and push the fitting in and then use the tool to back out the copper piece. Yes/No????

Can we please not use the word "tranny" on this forum??

Try replacing the plastic sleeve with a new one. After it get's pushed in several times, it compresses, and will no longer go in far enough to disengage the teeth.

The best way I have found is to push the sleeve in with the tool then pull the line out. It also helps to push the line in until the sleeve is pushed all the way in. Sometimes you need to work the sleeve in past flush with a small screwdriver or something similar.
