Question Procedure for installing Front 05 4x4 shocks?

How difficult is It? would spring compressor from autozone work? Ive done about all types of mechanical work but, no spring work.. What Is the Procedure ? any help would great ... thanks.

The Autozone compressor will work fine......if you get two sets of them. I put 3 on the springs in a triangular shape. This works MUCH better than simply using one on each side. If you only use 2, it's pretty scarry!! They have been known to strip out, break, slip off.....all kinds of exciting things have happened

you can use the weight of the truck to take them off to, using a jack and lowering the a-arm.

Does the shock and spring get separated with the spring compressor, while it is on the truck, or is the tool used while the shock and spring is on the workbench?
