i have a 98 red 2wd f150 and i want to level it. what is the best leveling kit that will give me the biggest ground clearance and allow the biggest tires?
Daystar makes 2 inch coilspring spacers for your truck. If you go taller than this using longer coilsprings or spacers you will need longer upper control arms to get the alignment withing specs. A leveling kit will allow you to fit 33's using the right wheel (oem or an 8 inch wide aftermarket wheel with 4.5 inches of bs).

ok the first thing i'm gonna do is get pipes and a leveling kit. after that i'll have to save my money to get new rims and tires(i want black rims). how wide of a 33 inch tire can i get with just a two inch leveling kit?
ok how much is that daystar coil spacer leveling kit because i was looking at the rough country 2" leveling kit (2 front coil springs) and it was like $160 with shipping

Cheap aftermarket springs are kinda hit and miss. Ya never know how much lift you're actually gonna get and how long it's gonna last. Go with the spacers. That way you know what you're getting.
Don't worry about the tires, concentrate on the wheels first. Like Wandell said.....wheel selection is extremely important. If you're going with 16's or 17's, no wider than 8's - with as close to OE backspacing as possible. If you want the lo-pro look with 18's or 20's, you can go with wider wheels.......but the backspacing has to be DEEP!!
Basically, the tires need to sit flush with the fender. The farther they stick out, the more they rub.
I had a 3" spindle lift and 2" rear block on my '99 2wd. Looked sharp with the 33's. Here's a 3.5"/2" kit on ebay. After this is installed, you could add a spacer on top of this, or lift springs for even more lift.
