2.5" Rough Cntry Leveling Kit Questions

OK all i want to do is make my truck look more like an off road machine... i will not be off roading too much if any but here are the questions...
I have heard that 2.5" is all that you should lift without hurting the truck so if this isnt the best 2.5" kit what would be? With 2.5" of lift will i be able to run 33's on my stock rims with no rubbing problems? Do these leveling kits with 33 in tires hurt road performance very significantly? Any help would be appreciated.

My opinion is that most leveling kits are just a piece of metal. It's a very, very simple product to make and I think it would be pretty hard to make a bad one. The only real difference I see is price. I know the Autospring sells for around $80 but I've seen others that sell for around $200 and they are the same thing.

That it along with the Autospring will just make the ride slightly rougher in front, wear the ball joints faster ( over a period of time ) and 2.5" it may sit higher than the rear.

Look into Bilstein leveling struts if you are willing to spend about $150.

Go with the Autospring. When I had a 2" Autospring leveling kit on my truck it rode just like stock, zero change in ride quality.

I bought the hellbent steel leveling kit (2.5) and its a good quality product. I notice no ride change and they took less than 3 hrs to install. Plus they are on sale right now on thier website for like $60. They are real good with customer service too, i have called a few times and always gotten a call right back.

Well ... I used Rough Country 2.5". Have had it in there for 3 years. Not wearing the tires, ride quality has not changed. Didn't even align the truck when finished. Truck sits level and i'm in the woods every weekend.

Well, you always need a front end alignment any time you alter the suspension geometry.

I have a 2005 ford f150, and also wanted to get the off road look, but not off road to much. I went with a leveling kit 2.5 and have 20inch rims on some 33x20x12.50, and it looks awesome. i would highly reccomend that bro.

thanks for the help guys i am getting the project started this week.... im geting new exhaust, tint, and lift and tires hope all turns out well... should look good
