no way

sorry I didn't email ya back. I'm notoriously lazy at both emailing and calling people back lol. I'll read your email/see your call, and be like, I'll call them back in a bit, but completely forget about it lol.

You're right though, I guess it's a good thing I didn't sell it lol.

edit: where in Orlando are you? I'm in Ocala now till the middle of August working, but once fall semester starts up I'm back in Orlando at UCF. We should definitely meet up sometime.

Yeah I got these tires for a ridiculously good price. That deal is the reason i went with 38s. I was gonna stick with 35s and not do a body lift or gears. Then I found these tires, and couldn't pass up the chance.
Ha yea Im pretty sure I would have had to give you hell if I found out you passed up such a good set of 38 inch toyos!!!

Or just maybe buy them after you passed them up! jk

I'm glad to see you have them on finally I know you have been waiting a damn long time for some new tires!

You just were patient enough for a really good opportunity to come your way!
It really was the best decision! YOu cant go wrong with anything bigger than what you planned on!

Thanks man!

I just took the truck in for an alignment, and my wallet is in tears. First it was $125 for an alignment. Then they told me the truck was toeing out real bad (which it was) because of the tie rods and that they had to actually cut the tie rods which was gonna be another $75.00. Right now it's at $200 and the truck had better be perfect when I pick it up this afternoon.

edit: I posted another thread on this in other powertrain, but does anybody know how good Reider Racing is for gears? I can get a set of 4.88 front/rear gears with master install kits for 443 shipped. I'm going to have a friend of mine put them in for next to nothing hopefully. What brand does Reider Racing use? Is it worth it to go with them?

Got it back today, I replaced the pitman arm and idler arm before getting an alignment. The steering/alignment are spot on and it feels like a brand new truck. Now I just need gears and I'll be set.

Speaking of gears. Are Precision Gears a good bet? That's what the package deal from Reider Racing has that I'm looking at picking up early next week. The guy I'm having do my gears wants me to take in both diffs to him so he can work on them and I'll install them back in the truck. Any tips/tricks to getting out the front (and rear for that matter)? I'm not going to have to unbolt all the front suspension to get it forcing me to get another alignment will I?

Also, anybody know if the 4.88 gears will fit in the housings easily or am I going to have to replace something to make them fit?

haha yeah, i'm in Orlando. Probably only 15 minutes from UCF if your heading towards Cocoa.

Precision gears have a good rep. and from i know, are known to be good gears. Yukon and Precision are usually at the top of the list. That price seems awsome for both ring and pinions and an install kit. Does that place have a website? I was looking at Genuine 4.10s with an install kit for about $500 shipped, but that was from 4wheelparts

About the housings, i've HEARD you might have to get a new differential cover once you go to 4.88s but that could be wrong. Even if you don't, it'd still look badass

yeah the site is http://www.reiderracing.com/ the deals are on the main page. call up their number, let them know what you've got/want, and they'll help ya out.

That's what I had heard about the gears not fitting. I couldn't remember if it was the diff cover or something else. What are some good diff covers that would work? I know there is Mag-Hytec, which is an awesome cover, but it's also really expensive. If there's nothing else, I'll buy it, but I'd rather find something similar for cheaper.

(I have a nbs f-150 with 4.88's, 9.75 axle, and maghytec)

diff cover replacement isnt necessary, but do it anyway. It looks a lot better. Get a maghytec. Call up our buddy crashlucky to get you a deal. I have pics of a mag hytec in my gallery, which i dont think exists anymore, but pm me if you want a pic. They make it real easy to change your diff oil as well.

Cashel: Precision Gears are awesome. Believe it or not, they are the only guys out there who cut their own gears. Yukon is good too, and so is Ford Racing. I'd stay away from anything else other than those three. You do not want to put something in there inferior to what you have now.
