6" lift for a 08 2WD Reg cab

I am researching 6" lifts for a 2WD and I thought I wanted the Fabtech but I really don't want to grind anything off my truck. I want to be able to go back to stock relatively easily if I need to. Is there a 6" lift for the 2wd that does not require cutting? I want bolt on.

Ok, nevermind the first question. I have a level kit on the front. 2.5AS. How can I get another 2" in the front of a 2WD NBS? I think I may have an alternative plan.

step 1: remove 2.5" spacers
step 2: install 6" lift

With a 6" lift, I should be able to run 35" tires correct?

Yep. There are many members on here with 2wd trucks on a 6" lift running 35s. I wouldnt go with a rim wider than 9" and less than 5" backspacing though.

on the fabtech all you grind off is a quarter inch its not much at all and you can still go back to stock if you wanted.. i have the leveling kit and the 6 inch fabtech lift and it is perfect height.. you can also fit 36's

Well, as long as I can go back stock, then I am good to go. Now I need to buy the lift. lol. Easier said than done.

I looked at the Pro-Comp 2WD lift and it says it lifts the front 6" but the back 3". Is this correct? If so, then that is only 3" higher than I am now with the level.

yeah but when you put bigger tires on, that gives you even more lift. lets say you go from 31" tires to 35" tires, leaving 4" taller tires meaning 2" above and 2" below the axle, so 2" more lift. 6" + 2" from tires = 8" of total frame lift. Thats a lot higher than your truck is now.

Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for. So is the Fabtech less expensive than most? Will I need new shocks? I don't intend on going off road very often.

Fabtech is a little more expensive than procomp but much higher quality. It is less expensive than a lot of other lifts too. Procomp just puts a fat spacer ontop of your stock shocks, while fabtech replaces all your shocks with longer ones. I'd go with the fabtech for sure.

Well, I just found the Fabtech instructions and I tell ya, gonna have to go with it. I can get that kit for about a 1500 and that gives me more room to breath with the tires and wheels.

My last post said Procomp until I looked at the price of the Fabtech kit. They are both pretty much the same as far as cost. I am still looking and will make my decision based on ease of installation primarily due to the fact that I have no access to a lift.

keep in mind though that procomp puts these crap spacers on top of your stock setup whereas fabtech supplies the longer shocks. thus, the fabtech is a better kit if you intend to offroad.
